Sub: Scarcity of Water Supply in Ward No.6
Sir,
We, the undersigned rent payers of Dum Dum Municipality under the ward no.6 would like to draw your kind attention to a long standing grievance of the inhabitants of the locality about the scarcity of supply of drinking water in our area.
Our locality has been going without even the basic civic amenities because the Municipality has been neglecting the water supply system in this area for a long time. It is a common feature throughout the year. But during the summer season, the acute shortage of water compels the inhabitants to fetch drinking water from distance places for everyday use.
You can easily understand the difficulty to bring water in summer and in monsoon. Even, very often we have been compelled to drink contaminated water of ponds in our locality. The drinking of this water may lead to fatal diseases.
Being the regular tax-prayers we should get the sufficient supply of water. Installation of pumps in our locality may meet our demand, we believe. Though you have been orally apprised of the problem a number of times yet the authority still maintains a mysterious silence about the problem. Therefore, we pray to your kind self to look into the matter personally to solve our crying need to increase the water supply.
