■ Transformation of Sentence Exclamatory to Assertive and Assertive to Exclamatory Rules Examples Exercise 

While changing from Exclamatory Sentence into Assertive Sentence,  ‘How’ and ‘What’ in exclamations are replaced by ‘Very’ before Adjectives and ‘Great’ before Noun. Moreover, the verb like ‘Wish’, ‘exclaim in wonder’, ‘strange’ can be used to express the strong emotions. 

Transformation of Sentence Exclamatory  to Assertive Examples:

(1) Exclamatory:- How beautiful is the night!
Assertive:- The night is very beautiful.

(2) Exclamatory:- What a fool you are!
Assertive:- You are a great fool.

(3) Exclamatory:- What a fierce animal the tiger is!
Assertive:- The tiger is an extremely fierce animal.

(4) Exclamatory:- How swiftly Virat Kohili strikes the ball!
Assertive:- Virat Kohili strikes the ball swiftly indeed.

(5) Exclamatory:- What a nuisance these noisy loudspeakers are!
Assertive:- These noisy loudspeakers are great nuisance.

(6) Exclamatory:- Oh, that I were young again!
Assertive:- I wish that I were young again.

(7) Exclamatory:- Had my mother been living now!
Assertive:- I wish that I had my mother living now.

(1) Assertive:-

Exclamatory:- Oh, the childhood were eternal!

(2) Assertive:- A little learning is a dangerous thing.

(3) Assertive:- It is sad to think that melodious note will not be heard anymore.
Exclamatory:- Alas, that melodious note will not be heard anymore!

(4) Assertive:- It is strange that his own brother is so jealous of his success.
Exclamatory:- To think that his own brother and so jealous of his success!

(5) Assertive:- It is strange that a sailor is afraid of storms.
Exclamatory:- A sailor and afraid of storms!

(6) Assertive:- I wish that I had come one hour earlier.
Exclamatory:- If only I had come one hour earlier!

(7) Assertive:- I prefer death to dishonour.
Exclamatory:- Death before dishonour!
