Celebration of Teachers Day

Barasat, 5th September: Teachers Day was celebrated by the Barasat Govt. High School with a lot of gaity and enthusiasm as the whole country celebrated the Teachers Day on the occasion of the birth day of Dr. Sarbapalli Radhakrishnan to pay respect and reverence towards him.
The programme was held at our school auditorium. The school was decorated with balloons, flowers and festoons. On this occasion, the students of our school expressed their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers. The most striking feature of the occasion was that the whole programme was conducted by the students.
The programme started with the traditional way with the prayer. Then the portrait of Dr. Sarbapalli Radhakrishnan was garlanded as the day marked the birthday of this great educationist and statesman of the country. The students took the responsibility of teaching on that particular day as an appreciation for their teachers. Each of our teachers was felicitated one after another. Then the Headmaster of the school delivered brief and significant speech on the importance of the day.
The main objective to show the respect for the teachers from the students was appreciated by all. Students also arranged stage performances and several other cultural activities. At the end there was an arrangement for refreshment for everyone.
